This site is dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of the 1974-1979 Indianapolis Racers major league hockey team, its fans, and the legacy of the
World Hockey
Association. Since 2004 we have gathered extensive research,
published a deifinitve
history of the
franchise as a book. and created an exclusive
two-DVD video collection.
Led by an original Indianapolis Racers fan Timothy Gassen— now a journalist
and
filmmaker — our efforts have grown to include the creation and growth of the WHA
Hall of Fame, with several more DVD sets available and public events
throughout
North America celebrating the league that gave birth to the Racers.
We are dedicated to keeping this important sports history alive, and welcome

in a new documentary film that will debut Thursday, January 26
in Indianapolis —
"Naptown to Super City" traces Indy's rise in sports over
the past decades to host the
NFL Super Bowl. It includes footage we
provided of the WHA Indianapolis Racers and Wayne Gretzky. You can
see
it in Indiana on WFYI-TV (and other PBS stattions) and
online at the Indianapolis Star video page.
